RIVETS – INSULATION INSTALLATION ACCESSORIES

Liên hệ

rivet is a fastening method used to join materials by employing a metal pin or bolt known as a rivet. The rivet has one end expanded after being inserted into the materials, creating a secure and permanent connection.

Rivets are mechanical fasteners consisting of a smooth cylindrical shaft with a head on one end and a tail on the other.

During installation, insulation technicians place the rivet into a pre-drilled hole, and the tail is then secured or deformed(expanded) using a rivet gun, riveting tool, or pneumatic hammer. This process causes the tail to expand to about 1.5–2 times the original shaft diameter, firmly locking the rivet in place and ensuring a strong, reliable joint for insulation installation applications.

Insulation rivets are used to securely join two sheets of steel, aluminum, or stainless steel, commonly applied in mechanical and industrial settings where tight, vibration-resistant joints are required to prevent loosening or damage.

Blind rivets, also known as pop rivets, feature a mandrel running through their center. When inserted into pre-drilled holes, the blind end expands as the mandrel is pulled, and the mandrel then breaks off, forming a tight, durable joint.

Because blind rivets can be installed from only one side, they are ideal for applications with limited accessTubular rivets, which have a hole in the shank, are available with various head styles such as oval, button, flat, or countersunktypes.

A rivet has an effective head at both ends once installed, allowing it to withstand tensile loads, though it performs even better under shear loads (loads perpendicular to the rivet’s axis).

Pre-assembled pin-type rivets can simply be pushed into pre-drilled holes, providing a quick and neat fastening solutionSolid rivets (also known as full rivets) offer resistance to water, vibration, tampering, and harsh conditionsThreaded inserts and rivet nuts function similarly to traditional rivets but provide a durable, integrated thread for use with thin or delicate materials.

Rivets are designed for excellent versatility, enabling them to secure metal, plastic, and other materials. They are particularly suitable for fastening thin, delicate components and connections prone to cracking or breaking.

In industrial insulation applications, rivets are widely used to join and fasten the ends of aluminum, galvanized steel, or stainless-steel jackets, ensuring durability and stability of the insulation covering system.
